How long will it take?
You will be required to attend two appointments at our clinic. Your first appointment will take approximately one hour. You will need to allow approximately one hour for your second visit to see the doctor.
When will I get my results?
Usually, your second visit to see the doctor happens within 2 to 3 days. You will take your results home with you afterwards.
Can I do the medical when menstruating?
Yes, we can complete all parts of the medical except the urine test. We will make an appointment for your second visit to see the Doctor when your period is finished, and complete the urine test then.
Is it okay to eat before the examination?
If you are a normal body weight, you can eat and drink normally; it does not affect the test results. However, if you are overweight or if you have a family history of heart disease or diabetes, you may require additional blood tests, which are fasting tests. Fasting means you cannot eat or drink (apart from water) for at least eight hours before the tests.
Is there parking?
Yes, parking is available at the rear of our building. Make sure that you park only in the designated Ponsonby "Accident & Medical" carparks.
